REVIEW: The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Night Cream - Sweet Dreams and Plumped Skin!

For years I have neglected night creams. I purchase them, they look pretty on my desk and I inevitably forget they exist and they just collect dust until they go out of date. Well not any more!
After a lengthy stroll around The Body Shop (as is usual for me if I'm anywhere near a store) I stumbled upon this tiny pot of Aloe Soothing Night Cream resting on the shelf and it looked so lonely that I had to bring it home... well that's my story anyway and I'm sticking to it!
Packaging: Cute and functional. It is a small pot with a screw off lid, then a little plastic protector to stop the cream from going manky.  It works, it's clean.

Scent: Vile. This is one of the only things I hate about this product. It smells like PVA glue. I hate the smell so much. It's such a shame! The smell does fade once its sunk in but that initial whiff is horrifying. If your sensitive to bad smells, don't bother!

Texture: A cross between a gel and a cream. This feels quite lightweight for a night cream and doesn't leave the skin feeling as though you've just slapped some whipped cream onto your face for the night. It sinks in fairly quick also meaning that you don't go to bed with that 'I've got 100 products laying on my face' feeling.

Does it do the job?: This is always hard to say with a night cream, but I do feel that it helps to balance my combination skin and does leave my skin feeling hydrated and looking plumped in the morning.

Price: Okay, it sells at £12 for 50ml but I do feel that this is maybe a tad pricey considering it doesn't claim any wondrous effects from using it other than "restore, nourish and moisturise" (plus it smells rank). If your looking for simple then this is your guy, but if you want some more 'bang for your buck' as they say, maybe look elsewhere.

Skin Type: Suitable for all skin types including sensitive, this doesn't contain any fragrance (hence the god awful PVA smell), I doubt this will cause any issues for anyone but make sure you check the ingredients if your concerned!

Would I Repurchase?: No, sadly as much as I like the texture of the product and the fact it does seem to help balance my combination skin, I just cant get over that smell.

Overall, I'm left feeling a little disappointed and looking for a new night time moisturiser for when this one runs out!

Have you tried The Body Shops Aloe Soothing Night Cream? What do you think of that smell?
